Herman Goring Bronze Bust ( Hans Haffenrichter ) 1897-1981 # 1891

One of the rarest Hermann Göring busts that I have offered with only 8 produced by the Noack foundry during the period and maybe 2 in existence. Just shy of 2x life the bust measures 15 inches high and an overall heights of 19 inches and its sits on a very nice replacement base that measures 7x7x4. Very difficult to get these on their original bases and this one is tastefully done in period style.

Hans Haffenrichter (1897-1981) Haffenrichter is primarily known for his graphic works, and he was Bauhaus trained. He was the Director of the art school "Der Weg" in Berlin for four years. from 1931 to 1933 and was appointed Professor for art and movement education at the Pedagogical Academy in Elblag. In 1937 his works were represented at the exhibition of "Degenerate art" in Munich. The professorship on the one hand, industrial orders, and more sculptural work on the other hand show the inconsistency of Nazi cultural policy.

Condition is untouched with a few superficial scratches and rubs to the original dark brown patina and anyone that knows these pieces will know it is almost always the case. The piece was featured on an period HDK postcard, a copy of which is shown and a very nice and significant piece for one who appreciates these items. The bronze is signed, initialed, and foundry marked which is what you want on an investment grade piece such as this.
