Ludwig von Beethoven in Bronze- Arno Breker Signed Certification
Offered here is a rare cast bronze bust of Ludwig von Beethoven by arguably the most important sculptor of the Third Reich period, Arno breker. The work was sculpted and cast in 1973 in an unnumbered edition of 50. The bronze bust itself measures about 5 1/4" tall, and is mounted of a variegated black and white polished marble base, which measures approximately 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" by 2 1/2" tall. The bust is crisply signed A.Breker on the side of the neck, and bears a foundry mark which reads: Fondeur BARTH Allemagne. (Richard Barth, Rinteln) The bronze has a rich chocolate brown patina and is in excellent, undamaged condition. It comes with the original certificate of authenticity with color photos of this bust attached. The certificate is also HAND SIGNED by Arno Breker. This is a rarely seen work, cast in a small edition.
