Adolf Hitler Bronze Bust- Ferdinand Liebermann ( 1883-1941) # 3399

This is a life sized Ferdinand Liebermann which is less common than its larger version and measures approx. 12 inches high and 9 inches wide. Like many of the busts that were returned home at wars end or came here in the post war market the base did not survive or was too heavy to ship with the bust. The Liebermann examples are premium examples and sell well in the market with other artists such as Wolff, Pagels, and Ley. The bust is just as it was and has not been cleaned or polished and is undamaged.

Liebermann was a student at the Munich Academy of Arts and exhibited many pieces at the Munich Haus of Arts. The bust bears the proper signature of Liebermann to the rear of the neck and the appropriate Brandstetter foundry mark for this particular model. It is said that Hitler sat for this rendition and it was displayed in 1938 at the GDK ( Great german art exibition ). Liebermann worked often for the state and is said to have done a model bust of Geli Raubal at Hitler's request.
