This is a prewar bronze sculpture of a Luftwaffe eagle by sculptor Josef Pabst. The piece stands at 11.5 inches high and has an impressive wingspan of 15.5 inches and looks quite similar to the schellenbaum eagles that come to market on occasion. I have had over the years several Pabst eagles including a presentation to Joseph Goebbels at one time and they are all very nice, this one is the first example of this style I have had. No matter how hard I try to shoot some of these pieces I can never quite get what I want out of the photos, and after 3 days of trying to show how nice it is I have gone and added one photo from the rear that should give you an idea. It has the smokey grey green patina that I favor on these birds and its big which the front photos don't seem to capture. This is also a signed piece and other than some chips to the base is pretty much minty and untouched. It is getting increasingly difficult to find original quality examples for which to offer, this one is very nice.
