Hermann Goering Formal Serving Dish- Hunting Pattern # 3347
Large formal pattern serving dish from what is known as the hunting pattern and owned by Hermann Goering. The pattern consisted of a multitude of hunting scenes and serving pieces each different than the next and were produced by the prestigious firm of KPM. The serving dish for consideration is titled "Kämpfende Birkhähne - Spielende Wiesel" (fighting blackcocks - playing weasels) and would have consisted of multiple pieces in that theme. This piece measures 30.5 cm across at its widest, 27 cm across the rim and stands approx. 9 cm high.
The KPM markings are textbook and consist of the blue scepter and red orb, the title of the pattern and maintain the addition of a Hagal rune. The use of KPM in many of the Goering patterns should not be a surprise given his taste for the finest available and KPM would certainly be a top selection. Nice piece of high quality and very rare porcelain in undamaged condition.
