This is a rare cast bronze bust by famous German sculptor Ludwig Manzel. (1858-1936) Sculpted in 1917, it is a fine likeness of General Erich Ludendorf in uniform, wearing his Pour le Merite. The bust measures about 10" tall overall, and has fine details and is beautifully cast. It is signed in the bronze L. Manzel in script. No foundry mark. The base is variegated green marble and free from any damage. A very rare bust and a perfect desk size.
