6. Allach Awards and Presentation # 582
Although many of the initial pieces manufactured by Allach in 1936
were commercial pieces such as animal figures, candle holders and vase.
The presentation aspect would soon follow with a huge amount of both
porcelain and earthenware items. The first year gave us the "SS Rider"
and the "HJ Drummer" as well as a few others.
In the following
years the presentations became the bulk of pieces manufactured under
Allach and Heinrich Himmler. Contained in the 1938/39 catalog reprint
can be found many pieces within the price list that bear the term
"Gesperrt" or restricted. Included amongst these pieces are the SS
Rider, the SS Standard Bearer, Pilot, Flieger Offizier and others not
listed.
Additionally, the article revealed that in addition to the Police Presentation Plates, other pieces of Allach were used as rewards for competitors such as Der Fechter (The Fencer) and an Adolf Hitler bust.
The photo below shows the Allach plates being awarded after competition in the 1937 Track and Field Championships."
