Standing Adolf Hitler presentation piece by Schmidt-Hofer. These are encountered on occasion in the market, this one is unique in that not only does it bear a presentation plaque but was obtained by the collector from immediate family members and along with some documentation from the period including his photos from his service in the S.A and the Wehrmacht.
It is reported that the statue was given to the recipient on his wedding day and he served in S.A Standarte 116 Oberhessen. It would then appear he went on to service in the Wehrmacht.
Included when the grouping was obtained are various
correspondence letters addressed to and from the recipient and photos of
him in both branches of service. A nice grouping that is kind of rare
to come across in the market.
