Allach Porcelain Presentation SS Wedding Cup # 1727

Extremely rare Allach wedding cup for presentation to the SS couple and for the entry of the bride into the SS family or clan, availability of this particular piece is almost unheard of and the first example that I have ever had.

Production numbers for these are unknown and the official name is the Hochzeitsbecher. The piece measures about 4 inches high and bears a raised inscription to the lower rim as follows " So Wie Eure Ringe Ohne Anfang Und Ohne Ende. So Sei Eure Sippe Ohne Anfang Und Ende " or " As your rings are without a beginning and end. Like that of your kinship is without beginning and end "

The SS wedding is one of the significant cultural events taken on by Fritz Weitzel under Heinrich Himmler's directives to shift the SS man away from Christianity and the church and back to pre-christian ritual of centuries past.

Weitzel who authored the SS family guide to cover all aspects of SS life and working in conjunction with Richard Walther Darre and Karl Maria Willigut would shape all facets of the SS clan and its structure as it related to everyday life.

This little cup to the casual observer may appear benign or simple, in reality there is nothing simple about the SS and it is pieces like this that make things interesting and remind me what initially peaked my interests in 3rd Reich history.

For all that is said about this organization, one thing is certain; they are never boring. A great piece that has more history than I could ever cover here in this description.
