Presentation Julfest plate from Oswald Pohl and dating to 1941. The plate measures approx. 10.5 inches and while the Pohl plates used to be more commonly encountered than their Himmler counterparts, in todays market mint examples are not so readily available, mostly due to their manufacture of above surface transfer and paint. This particular plate is the finest conditioned example Ive ever seen and its flawless from the paint to the transfer and down to the period hanger. If you want the best, this is it.
The porcelain Pohl plates were not commercially available as previously thought years ago and were only available to those chosen by Oswald Pohl. The 1941 featured here has the central floral design of Wild Daffodil in representation of the onset of spring. The rear inscription translates to " Jul gift of the SS Economics Administrative Principal Office.
