Kniendes Mädchen- Kneeling Girl ( Arno Breker ) # 1441
Originally sculpted in 1928 while still a student in Paris, this
bronze was cast by Arno Breker from his original model as a small edition of 50
pieces in the late 1960's. Breker was a friend of the sculptor Aristide Maillol,
and the modernist influence of his work is evident in this piece. The bronze is
solid cast, measures 6 3/8" tall, and has a black-brown patina. The script
signature of the sculptor is stamped in the bottom, as well as the monogram of
the foundry.
