Renzo Colombo Napoleon- Bronze Bust 1885 # 3132

This is an original, late 19th century bronze bust of Napoleon Bonaparte sculpted by Renzo Colombo (1856-1885) in 1885. It is a smaller version, approximately 13" tall, signed and dated in the bronze. The sculpture won a silver medal in an 1889  Universal Exposition, and there is a seal cast in the bronze indicating this. The 1st empire eagle at the bottom is a separate cast and attached with foundry nuts and threaded rods. The bronze title plaque is also cast and attached with rods and nuts.   The patina is two-tone, slighty red in the flesh tones and the rest is a darker brown. The condition is absolutely excellent with not even a rub to the patina
