Early solid zinc sign for Deutsches Polizei Burgermeister Ortspolizeibehorde. Not the typical stamped tin plate nor enamel variant normally found and a similar example can be found in the Saris Reference on page 258 but for "Gendarmerie". It will date to pre-1940 most likely and is in very nice condition with black background paint and a brownish wreath with some age wear to the paint but its all there for the most part.

Measurements are approx. 12 5/8 X 16 inches and it is a heavy piece with for mounting holes, one in each corner. Solid backed piece with recessed eagle and lettering as well as border trim. I must say it must have been a job to make this at the time and it is very cool. A rare sign I think and I do not see them.
