The New Reichs Chancellery # 883

This is a large book and while I have many of the photo's on file they cannot come close to this. From cover to cover is nothing but photographs of this amazing building and its internal decor. Breker's "Party" and "Wehrmacht", tapestry, mosaic's, and furnishings that are just off the map, an amazing display really.

4000 laborer's working night and day completed the Chancellery in just under a year. The organizational skills involved launched Albert Speer into the Nazi hierarchy as a confidant and friend to Adolf Hitler. As Minister of Armaments at the close of the war he stood trial at Nuremburg and was the only defendant to take any form of responsibility, he went on to say that if Hitler had a friend it was him. These two facets of his testimony probably saved his life and he was sentenced to 20 years. Albert Speer died in London in 1981.

Great book for someone who likes RK items and I am going to need a full day to photo it.
