Sport Award Desk Piece ( Kriegsjahr 1940 ) # 1118
This is a good sized piece and is just over 5 inches wide and about 4
inches high. The amount of bad bronze and desk pieces in the market is
high enough that nice original examples are difficult for me to get my
hands on.
This is a sport award and has a dedication for a
shooting competition in 1940. The piece has a large sexy sport eagle to
the top and is very well made. The eagle has no flaking but the air has
gotten underneath giving it a couple areas of patina. Base bears the
original distributor sticker and it has four round felt feet that may
have been added at some point and cannot say I have seen that before.
If
you have reached the point where your brain feels like its oozing out
your ears looking for an original piece, this is a one looker and will
no doubt please the recipient. Nice piece.
