1933 signed, cast iron, bas relief plaque by sculptor K.A. Schmelzer. No information about this sculptor has been found so far. This early plaque shows Hitler in his political brown shirt uniform in a 3/4 pose, right arm raised in a nazi salute. The plaque measures 5 1/2" x 9 1/4", and has a dark black-brown finish resembling bronze. The detail is very crisp. The reverse has the crisply cast-in foundry name and is Kreis marked, Trier. It also has its original hanging wire set into the back. Very nice condition with all of its original finish. No rust or other damage.
