6. Allach Awards and Presentation # 582

Although many of the initial pieces manufactured by Allach in 1936 were commercial pieces such as animal figures, candle holders and vase. The presentation aspect would soon follow with a huge amount of both porcelain and earthenware items. The first year gave us the "SS Rider" and the "HJ Drummer" as well as a few others.

In the following years the presentations became the bulk of pieces manufactured under Allach and Heinrich Himmler. Contained in the 1938/39 catalog reprint can be found many pieces within the price list that bear the term "Gesperrt" or restricted. Included amongst these pieces are the SS Rider, the SS Standard Bearer, Pilot, Flieger Offizier and others not listed.

"In an article published in "The Military Advisor" Vol.18 #3 titled "Deutsche Polizei-Police Sports Championships and the Allach Police Presentation Plates." (Ehrenpreis des Reichsfuhrer SS und Chef der Deutsche Polizei)" by  Joe Wotka, reference is made to a decree of May 5, 1937 in which RFSS Heinrich Himmler forbade any future presentation of the previous medals or other such plaques or gifts of metal as prizes for victorious contestants in the national police competitions, sporting events and so forth. Earlier the Police High Command had ordered that for the coming Reich Fiscal Year (April 1937 to March 1938) successful competitors in the national police track and field , pentathlon and skiing championships would receive a newly designed Allach presentation plate featuring the national police eagle insignia as an Ehrenpreis des Reichsfuhrer SS und Chef der Deutsche Polizei ( Honor Prize of the National Leader of the SS and the Chief of the German Police in the National Ministry of the Interior). A victorious competitors would be called Deutsche Polizeimeister (German Police Champion).

Additionally, the article revealed that in addition to the Police Presentation Plates, other pieces of Allach were used as rewards for competitors such as Der Fechter (The Fencer) and an Adolf Hitler bust.

The photo below shows the Allach plates being awarded after competition in the 1937 Track and Field Championships."
