Allach/Bohemia Vase # 520

Although there is period correspondence and documentation that leads to a connection of these two companies, there has never really been a piece that has come to the surface to show how closely they functioned.

Allach started in 1936 where as Bohemia had a long history in Czech territory. As the Germans expanded their territories Bohemia was in their path, and was a Jewish owned company. Somewhere around 1939-1940 the SS Reich Economics office under Oswald Pohl absorbed this porcelain manufacture into an SS concern.

Collaboration between the two companies is documented and the wife of Pohl was a designer for Bohemia as well. What makes this piece so interesting is that it was made from an Allach mold and designed in a deco cherry blossom pattern. On top of that it is dual marked with both the Allach mark and the Bohemia mark. It is really unheard of and was the first piece found in this configuration that was an honest piece. At least that I have seen.
