Luftwaffe (Lost e-mail Inquiry) # 1253

I lost an e-mail inquiry on this badge, please contact....

An extremely rare but as yet unidentified in any publication, with the exception of being mentioned in one, Luftwaffe officers trade badge constructed in beautiful quality heavy wire silver weave on officer quality backing cloth with an edging of 3mm twist cord in aluminum wire. The form are the wings of the flying personnel trade patch with the center being crossed by two lightning bolts. The only publication this is mentioned in is Uniforms & Insignia of the Luftwaffe, Volume 1, 1933-40 by Brian L. Davies. He describes it identically as 'two lightning bolts diagonally crossed at their base with arrow heads pointing downwards, overlaying and surrounded by an open top wreath of oak leaves, gathered and tied at its base. The whole design is flanked by a pair of stylised feathered wings.' This is described on page 159 with a line drawing of the identical badge of page 155. There is evidence of this badge that it has been worn a uniform tunic.
