01.04.1943 – 04.08.1943:  Commander Pz.Reg.27 (19.PD)
Died:  04.08.1943 bei Tomarowka (gefallen)/Operation Citadel/Battle of Kursk.

Uniform Details/Description:

Privately tailored, model 1936 officer's field service tunic of feldgrau, gaberdine wool with "bottle green" collar.

Tailor:  Wilhelm Holters, Berlin; well known as  Hitler's tailor. Holters label at the neck and Holters nametag in the interior pocket.  "Becker, Heinrich" scribed onto the tag and dated.  Also has a stamped name which appears to be Hälßig (Inspector's stamp or that of the tailor?).

Tunic interior is lined in artificial silk, sleeves lined with typical "pajama striped" lining.  The sleeve lining material of the left sleeve has come un-sewn for approximately three inches at the top. The right sleeve lining in tight and intact. All stitching surrounding the right sleeve lining is sewn with the same thread.

Dagger slit in the interior of the jacket.  All buttons the same and show original stitching. The four pocket flaps are backed with the same artificial silk as seen on the tunic interior. Jacket is approximately a modern size 36/38 and fits beautifully on a shirt form/suit coat form. All insignia is originally sewn to the uniform.

Sewn-in field grade officer shoulder boards with rosa waffenfarbe for Panzer troops.  Boards are the subdued braid pattern appropriate for this uniform . Two gold pips on each of the shoulder boards.  All pips match in type, size and condition.

Collar tabs of officer pattern with subdued litzen. Rosa central braid to each collar tab.  Collar tabs are machine sewn to the collar and there are no other stitch holes of other evidence to suggest any other collar tabs had ever been sewn to the collar. Officer pattern, bullion embroidered breast eagle.

There are 4 sets of loops sewn to the left breast pocket and 1 centrally located hole, the latter to accommodate a screw-back Iron Cross First Class.  The hole has been neatly, tailor stitched to prevent fraying. Two loops for the 1939 spange to the 1914 EKI located above the hole. and three sets of loops below.

A period photo of Becker (two included in grouping) clearly shows the 1914 wound badge which would have occupied one set of these loops; no doubt a Panzer Assault badge would have been affixed to  another set of loops.  Screw back iron cross with large, backing washer and nut included in sale.  There are six loops above the left breast pocket for a long ribbon bar. 1939 spange to the 1914 EKII and Russian front ribbon are sewn at the second buttonhole and the right breast pocket features a pair of loops to accomodate the German Cross. Interior is lined in artificial silk, with interior pocket and dagger slit.

Condition: Near mint.  There is some very minor staining on a limited area of the back of the jacket (shown in photos); sleeve lining of left sleeve loose at top.
