Presentation Reichs Chancellery Portfolio 1939 # 878

Several awards or presentations were given to workers involved in the construction of the Reich's Chancellery, I have seen the Arno Breker plaques, and several other items but this is the first time I have seen this portfolio.

Sent home from a Veteran and reaching the U.S in June of 1945. The portfolio contains 12 high quality photographs on very heavy card stock. Photographers are listed as Winker, Hoffmann, and Max Bauer on the opening guide page. Included is an exceptional photo of a young Albert Speer reviewing documents with Adolf Hitler.

Albert Speer has to be one of the most interesting figures to have come out of the Third Reich, his Chancellery was genius and his ability to navigate through the intrigue of Hitler's inner circle and perform to such a high degree has always made me wonder what this man really was. But he was an architect for sure, there is no doubt about that.
