Railroad Eagle 28 Inch # 1648
This is first rail eagle I have had in some time and came in from a
family in the mid west that have had it since the 60's. It is a 28 1/2
inch example which is a nice size for display and the condition is very
nice with a very clean cast and no damage.
Top lugs are the
turned down type and will hang quite nicely. The paint to the swastika
area is not uncommon to see and in this case it was painted by the
brother of the consignor back in the sixties so while not original
paint, it is flaking and can easily be removed by the new owner if he
chooses without and adverse effect on the bird itself.
Original
birds by this manufacturer are not common and this is the first example
that I have seen in hand and bears all the traits I like to see in one
of these birds, it will not disappoint. Very nice piece here and priced
reasonably in comparison to market.
