Wellner Bud Vase's ( Offizierheim Wildflecken ) # 886
When I got these in and saw them I was pretty impressed as they are
just beautiful. I see so many silver pieces, many of which are not
nearly as nice and if these do not sell, I will no doubt garner them
with Edelweiss and place them appropriately on opposing sides of a
people's radio. Under the tarnish is a hammered finish much like an
Ehrenpokal, but less pronounced and I guess there would be no harm in
cleaning them if someone chose to, they will no doubt turn again.
Wildflecken, a large headquarters for the Wehrmacht and located in Bavaria served as a headquarters for not only the army but as a training ground for both the army and the Waffen SS. At wars end the U.S 14Th armored division took control of the camp, the base was then utilized as a home for displaced persons.
Marked Wellner and plated in silver the base has a nice crisp stamp of a seated king holding an upended arrow.
